Day Three of the New Year

Saturdays are generally my laziest days. I work Monday through Friday. I'm the poster child for the 9-5 crowd, though my hours exceed that. It's more like 8-6, and lunch is non-existent. Frankly, lunch and after five are the only times I get to work undisturbed. I don't mind it most days. But on Saturdays, I'm exhausted from the work week. This past year, there wasn't much writing or editing. I started a new job at my company in a new department, and it was intense. A new manager is starting in a couple of weeks. I'm torn about whether I'm happy or upset. I like being in charge and not having to run my decisions past other managers. But, on the other hand, there will be someone to cover me when I take days off. I didn't get to interview her, so I hope I like her.

I miss my old team. I miss their attention to detail and dedication. My new direct reports are middle of the road: okay but not outstanding. I'd bring my previous team with me, but I can't, so the goal is to encourage my new team and get them up to my previous team's level. May 2026 be better than 2025. Wishing everyone the same!

Why Indie?

Christmas Cold - Not the good kind

I have a holiday cold (flu?) and it's been kicking my butt. I spent an afternoon with my nephews on a Santa train. We all had a great time, so I don't regret going. But I picked up a bug of some kind.
